Sustaining team QA engineer
Job Description
As part of the software sustaining team, QA engineer will be responsible for releasing fixes for the problems that have been reported by our customers.
This will include preparing environments, problems reproducing, testing the fixes and perform regression testing.
QA engineer will also need to analyze the scope of the problem to provide LOE for above-mentioned activities.
As part of this sustaining team, QA engineer will be working alongside software developers from within the group and also communicate with field support personnel.
High Level Responsibilities
— analyze the scope of the issue and estimate time required for testing efforts
— analyze customer configuration and prepare environment for testing
— reproduce customer reported issues
— assist development and technical support teams in root cause determination
— verify reported defects are fixed
— create/update test cases to validate software problem resolution
— perform regression testing to verify existing functionality is not affected
— review technical documentation
— create certification reports
Experience and Skills
— effective communication skills
— attention to details
— ability to multi-task
— ability to work independently
— good written English
— experience in product sustaining is a plus
— Windows, VMware, SQL
— Oracle/SAP ERP systems knowledge is a plus
— Linux operating systems knowledge is a plus
